The Complete Wedding Signage Checklist

Welcome sign, seating chart, cake topper, place cards — what you actually need, what you can skip, and when to order each piece.

Wedding signage has quietly become one of the most photographed elements of the modern wedding — and one of the easiest places to overspend on things guests never read.

The essential three: a welcome sign (the establishing shot of your day), a seating chart (functional, saves your MC), and a cake topper (appears in more photos than almost any other object you'll buy).

The optional layer: bar menus, 'choose a seat not a side' signs, and hashtag signs. Beautiful if your venue has the surfaces for them; clutter if it doesn't.

Timing: order signage 6–8 weeks out. Names and dates are locked by then, but you're not yet in the final-fortnight chaos. Made-to-order studios like ours typically need 7–10 days plus shipping — and rush fees are real money better spent on the honeymoon.
